1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the WhatToPack mobile app ("App") or this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The service
WhatToPack helps you build packing checklists for your trips based on information you provide, such as destination, travel dates, and trip type, combined with third-party weather data. The App is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising.
3. Local profiles
WhatToPack offers an optional on-device profile (name and phone number) to personalize your experience. This profile is stored locally on your device — you are responsible for keeping your device secure, and for the accuracy of the information you provide.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use of the Service. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law.
5. Your content
Trip details and packing list items you create in the App belong to you. Since this data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for backing it up if you wish to keep it — uninstalling the App or clearing its storage will permanently delete it.
6. Third-party services & ads
The App uses third-party services, including Google Places (destination search), Open-Meteo (weather data), and Google AdMob (advertising). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. Weather & packing disclaimer
Packing suggestions and weather information provided by the App are for general guidance only. Weather forecasts can change and are not guaranteed to be accurate. You are solely responsible for verifying conditions and packing appropriately for your trip, especially in situations involving safety, extreme weather, or travel to remote areas.
8. Intellectual property
The App, its design, logo, and underlying code are the property of WhatToPack's developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any packing suggestion will be complete or suitable for your specific trip.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhatToPack's developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including reliance on any packing suggestion or weather information.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Effective date" above when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
